Rudderless

Summer is here with heat intense

Dusty sky, hot air ready to incense

Rivers dry and snow on peaks melt

  Insensitive human hearts rarely melt

Rising tempers, growing intolerance,

  Greed unseen, deceit everywhere, felt

There are no leaders to show way

Only herds of uncouth gone astray

Is this the beginning of a major upheaval?

Or a battle cries to seek new order surreal

  3. I loved how you started with the summer heat and where you took it. Like starting from a straw and 'sinking' the ship with it.

Maybe it is the time to be optimistic and keep hope. You know, everybody can keep their spirits up in good times, but it takes a special kind of person (some call them idiots) to stay on track in the bad times :-)

  23. Rahul sir, the poem has indeed taken some amazing turns like a river. Beginning with the ordeal which summers put us through; to the human minds and the insentive hearts; to the general public going astray with no leaders. The helplessness being the case in all the scenarios. Indeed life with no goal is no life at all.

We have the best education, the best people, the best culture, the best things in abundance. yet we are determined to turn our land into a wasteland.

  33. Very meaningful words, Rahulji!

We are really rudderless now...Congress has won in Karnataka...Is the win because of their performance (in the centre!) or because the BJP Govt. was intolerable? I have started worrying now itself about whom to vote here in Tamilnadu and Delhi! Not a single promising leader is visible anywhere.
