Summer is here with heat intense
Dusty sky, hot air
ready to incense
Rivers dry and snow on peaks melt
Insensitive human
hearts rarely melt
Rising tempers, growing intolerance,
Greed unseen, deceit
everywhere, felt
There are no leaders to show way
Only herds of uncouth gone astray
Is this the beginning of a major upheaval?
True to every word you penned, the chaos is overwhelming! A directionless phase is the worst one that one can go through , personal or otherwise.
ReplyDeleteTo be directionless is the worst thing to happen! Thanks Padmaja!
DeleteYour words truly reflect the sad state of affairs. We are on a rudderless ship... :|
ReplyDeleteNo salvation still in sight, Shilpa! Thanks!!
DeleteI loved how you started with the summer heat and where you took it. Like starting from a straw and 'sinking' the ship with it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is the time to be optimistic and keep hope. You know, everybody can keep their spirits up in good times, but it takes a special kind of person (some call them idiots) to stay on track in the bad times :-)
Thanks KK! Yes to maintain sanity in the tough times is what is the true test!!
DeleteSummer + Current situations portrayed so well! Lovely poem Sir!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Valli!Am happy you liked it:)
DeleteWah Rahul. This is Superb. Unbearable summer heat is brilliantly linked with the grim situation all around.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Ushaji for agreeing with the mess we are in today:(
DeleteYes, things seem like they have hit the rock bottom. Is the only way ahead is up?
ReplyDeleteRachna, I am also a firm believer like you that once you have hit the rock bottom the only way is to go up! Unfortunately no one really knows how deep we need to sink for this to happen:(
DeleteAmazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Izdiher:)
DeleteYou have said in a nutshell what ails our country.Looks like a revolution is needed.
ReplyDeleteSo true, waiting for some miracle to happen now:)Thanks a lot Indu!
DeleteYou aptly defined the current situation...

Thanks Ramya! We can beat the heat but how to beat the other ills, even I do not know:)Another good question:)
DeleteSure,it cant get worse.
ReplyDeleteINSAAN AUR KITNA GIREGA?
No way to measure the depth to which people will fall! We sure have a choice between devil and the deep sea:(
DeleteVery true. This time summer is unbearably hot.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Rajesh and to add to nature heat is the heat created by vitiated environment:(

Deletecurrent situation and hot summer - unbearable, we are struggling with both.. you have beautifully connected in this poem :)
ReplyDeleteNice to see you back after a while Kitty, and am happy you liked the composition:)
DeleteSummer...hot and getting worse each day. You have described it well
ReplyDeleteThanks for liking!
DeleteWhat a beautiful weave of the current situations, Rahul sir! Like they say, ummeed pe duniya kaayam hai... guess we can only hope for a better tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteDoobte ko tinke ka sahara... hope that tinka is there somewhere, Arti:)
DeleteRahul sir, the poem has indeed taken some amazing turns like a river. Beginning with the ordeal which summers put us through; to the human minds and the insentive hearts; to the general public going astray with no leaders. The helplessness being the case in all the scenarios. Indeed life with no goal is no life at all.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenny for all those comments which make the day:)Hope the nation is steered by more capable people!

DeleteI always thought Pakistan was the only country with no light at the end of tunnel, but I am realising that we too are sailing in the same boat, for, there is no light at the end of our tunnel too. Really sad.
ReplyDeleteWe have the best education, the best people, the best culture, the best things in abundance. yet we are determined to turn our land into a wasteland.
Sad is'nt it Rama to be equated in the league of our neighbors and African countries:(

Awaiting the great flood that will cleanse everything!
ReplyDeleteYeah, looks like only nature can now uproot these evils by show of some real strength:)
DeleteBrilliant comparison between the hotter seasons and the human temperament! Really well written and the significance is paramount!
ReplyDeleteA big thanks Sam and sure the human temperament is so cosely related to nature. Unfortunately many try to tamper with ways of nature to earn the wrath:)

DeleteVery meaningful words, Rahulji!
ReplyDeleteWe are really rudderless now...Congress has won in Karnataka...Is the win because of their performance (in the centre!) or because the BJP Govt. was intolerable? I have started worrying now itself about whom to vote here in Tamilnadu and Delhi! Not a single promising leader is visible anywhere.
Sandhya, we are not left with much much choice when it comes to selecting leaders ! The good people want to keep away from the dirt and grime around governance today!!
DeleteInsensitive human hearts rarely melt...
