Anatomy of Riots

Ricocheting bullets break the quiet
Menacing grins and shrieks of fright
Violence unabated this tumultuous night
Who was wrong or what was right
Tale of human misery, disaster n sleight
Mobs pillage, strike at will to kill
Callous irresponsible lead the strike
Falling torsos splash this moonless night
Wailing women and crying children
      Rendered homeless, inconsolable in fright
Even strong hearts melt at the gory sight
Who will answer for this human plight?

  2. History teaches us that riots are generated by oppression. Unluckily most of the times they are necessary to gain freedom

  8. Riots are created by the politicians, and the blame game continues. Who cares for the lives and properties lost, all they care is the media coverage, and photos with the victims.
And the media too is sometimes very immatured in handling these rots, for they too are looking for gain, for more popularity of their news channel.
In fact, the cyclone came and went by without causing much damage, yet you could see the reporters hanging in the rain waiting for some terrible disaster to happen, can't they for a change be happy that it came and passed away, and just report the way everybody was ready if things were to turn bad. No, they wished with all their heart, that they had something meaty to report.
Nobody really cares for the common people who are the real sufferers in all these, so called man made riots.
Very well written Rahul, I only wish good sense would prevail, and people would stop creating such riots.

  19. You words portrayed such a clear picture of the scene in AP right now. My cousin who is an engineering student was saying, when they were all doing a peaceful strike, rowdies have come in between and slowly started destroying and burning things and these students had to give up...and how many families have lost their children. Pathetic it is..
