No sound, no clamor, or blare,
It is a song of revered
silence.
Quiet and still, not a move,
Prevailing hush
begins to soothe.
No cacophony, no mirth, not a whisper
Unending stillness
n hush are sisters.
In chasing wild dreams of passion
We forgot to savor
peace as a nation

It's a stunning piece of poetry. Well done!

DeleteWhen you talk about chasing wild dreams in passion, I feel like passion is momentary and that we are idiots to be spending so much of time and thought and effort in attaining something apparently lopsided. If we as individuals are not at peace with ourselves, then no doubt, the family or the community or the nation will not be at peace.
ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head KK! Thanks for reading!

DeleteVery nicely expressed. Complete silence has become a rare thing nowadays, though...This is the reason we go for our morning walks very early in the morning,,,I love the sound of just the birds...sometimes they too wake up late!
ReplyDeleteOne has to really look for places of solitude especially for those like us who live in crowded cities, Sandhya!
