In this season of elections,
It’s about making
the best selections
The traders of votes
Stoop to all tricks unworthy of quote
We seldom make fair choices
Later cry crocodile tears and make noises
Give a thought and vote
Don’ get carried away by notes
Make a conscience decision
Best suited for worthy positions

We can always keep the hope alive for a better future, Mr Chowla! Thanks for reading!
DeleteHi Rahul, this is such an apt, suitable poem for all Safricans to read because we are having our national elections next month. And so far, the political parties have all been trying everything to lure votes. As you say 'tricks unworthy'. There is far too much corruption involved sadly.
ReplyDeleteHa ha... Sam... what a coincidence that you too have an election round the corner and facing almost similar environment as in India:) Hope you too get people who can deliver their promises:)
DeleteFew words have told it all, you hit it right!
ReplyDeleteA big thanks for those words, Padmaja!
DeleteOur future 5 years is literally in our own hands (finger, to be precise). Apart from blindly believing parties, we need to apply our minds..Nice post sir.. Hope most of us vote..

ReplyDeleteTry my hand once in a while at this Pooja! Thanks a lot!
Deletehahaha! apt :)
ReplyDelete:) Thank you Radhika!
DeleteVery nice! 'To the point' words! First people should take the effort to go our and vote. The political parties target poor people with fake promises because they are the ones who vote promptly, than literate people. We are lazy and think that all politicians are same and stay away from booths, which is very very wrong. When we have got a change to Change India, we have to take action.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandhya! Hope there are pleasant surprises this time!
DeleteVery true!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kusum:)
