Ask and it is given

The constant rain had brought down the temperature. The sky was still overcast and the visibility was poor. The driver pulled the cab by the road side and applied the brakes. It was a welcome relief in this stormy weather to see the sight of the cab in time. How our lives are integrated with all those around us, we seldom realize till the time something falls apart! If a train gets delayed, or the departure of flight is delayed due inclement weather, leaves us worried and sometimes fretting and fuming! There have been times when I have been left stranded in an aircraft for the full night due a thick envelope of fog on the runway while leaving for a trip abroad!
In most of the houses, the day starts with dependence on the utilities like, gas, electricity and a host of gadgets and if one of them is not working, the daily routine gets upset. Very seldom do these gadgets show symptoms of multiple failures to create a chaos! Often, a prayer comes in handy to set the things right but there are times when nothing works and we do not know where to look for a solution. A washing machine that refuses to start or a refrigerator develops a snag and food stowed is running a race before bacteria wins and makes better of the food.
I have been through circumstances when the situation turned from bad to worse and before I gave up hope, there was a ray of light! Climbing through the hills near Lansdowne with my family many years ago, we came to a place where there was no public transportation available after sunset. It was getting dark and we were hungry! A truck appeared which was headed towards the town and gave us a ride back. There is no dearth of those who are there to do us good in times of need.
In every situation when destiny is not favoring and the tide is turned against, a humble prayer or meditation often helps more than losing patience. Most of us are in a habit of misplacing some essential things like car/motorbike or house keys, spectacles and even mobile phones and then going for a wild goose chase trying to locate the lost item.  The most obvious way to find the lost item is to ask people who may have last seen it besides you but another way to find it is to sit peacefully in a quiet place and try to visualize the sequence of events since the item was lost! It often works and one may be rewarded by actually seeing the item lying in most unusual place! I have retrieved a lost mobile phone while on a trip by traversing over 25 km to be handed over the lost mobile phone! On yet another occasion while serving on board ship we experienced the failure of main navigation radar just prior to sailing! After two occasions one night while pondering over, it occurred that the new radar antenna was re sited as a part of modernization very close to the funnel. So every time the boilers were flashed prior to sailing, the hot flue gases entered the optical encoder mounted on antenna leading to its failure! In a ‘Eureka’ like stance, I rushed and reported this to the headquarters and after a small modification to the funnel, we never had another failure during the time I served there.

According to the famed author Rhonda Byrne, ‘The Power of Visualization ‘can make us fulfil any dream including getting rich! Jose Silva in his series of books on ‘Mind Control’ suggests techniques in how many a wonders can be achieved by simple mind control techniques. Celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Arnold  Schwarzenegger, and Bill Gates have attributed a part of success in their lives to the creative visualization. Creative visualization and Affirmation are extensively used even by modern medicine in healing! So next time you are finding yourself in a jam, visualize a better outcome and you will notice the things changing for better! If you are planning a long journey, visualize a happy end and presto, you will be rewarded!

  14. Just like you, I also believe in the law of attraction, that is, when we are sincere, we are given at the right time. All we need is some patience and a right attitude to carry us all the way.
